**Following Government guidance, the University have decided that all non-essential contact should now be avoided, so we are postponing all outreach activities both on and off campus until the end of the school academic year in July.  Therefore this event will no longer go ahead.**

Successful study of the media at A Level involves engaging critically with media – as industries as well as texts.

In this study day, students will have an opportunity to think critically about current issues raised by the media industries. David Hesmondhalgh, a ‘key theorist’ on the A Level Media Studies syllabus, and a Professor at the University of Leeds, will speak about the media industries and answer questions from students and teachers. His lecture will be followed by a seminar, where students will have a chance to discuss the key issues raised and work through examples in small groups.

During the study day, students will also participate in a practical workshop, focused on how to tell stories through moving images, and be given a tour of the University campus.
