'Emissions: Impossible?' podcast with Dr Mark Sumner, School of Design

Hosted by Broadcast Journalist Kim McAllister and featuring experts from across the UK, ‘Emissions: Impossible?’ showcases some of the most ground-breaking research and innovation in climate change, looking at fashion, food, transport, health, space, and more.

Online courses are a great way to gain insight into the subjects that you are interested in studying at university. The courses below are free, and have been created by academics at The University of Leeds.

English taster lectures

Watch a variety of taster lectures from the School of English. From Shakespeare to Contemporary Nature Writing, and a workshop on Creative Writing, learn something new and even develop your skills!

Article and worksheet for English, History and Religious Studies teachers - How texts from the past can shape and inform the future

Have a look at some activities and resources that have been put together by Dr Alison Searle, an Associate Professor of textual studies here at the University of Leeds. Her article, which highlights how historical practices of pastoral care and holistic well-being inform the present, also comes with an activity sheet ideal for KS4 and 5 students.
