Linguastars Residential

COVID -19 Update: Unfortunately, we are postponing all upcoming school events and activities till the end of July 2020 due to Covid-19. This is in light of the recent advice from the UK Government regarding the Covid-19 virus regarding non-essential contact and unnecessary travel.

Linguastars Online

This year, in response to the coronavirus pandemic, we decided to move this event online – meet #Linguastars! Between 1st-12th June, our #Linguastars delegates will be taking part in our online workshops, designed to give a taster of studying languages at university, explore the career opportunities available to graduates and have the opportunity to engage with current languages students.

Featuring undergraduate level sessions of A-Level languages, taster sessions in new languages, Joint Honours taster sessions in different subjects, an employability talk and a Q & A with our Student Ambassadors, it is perfect to help gather the knowledge you need to make those all important Higher Education decisions, from the comfort of the sofa!

Whilst we had a limited number of places for the live online event, we want to share the resources with as many language students and teachers as possible! Find our recorded sessions and delegate newsletters here.

Linguastars Residential

Experience what it’s like to study languages at university on our free residential for Year 12 students.

You will take part in engaging and interactive workshops designed to give you a taster of studying languages at university, and explore the career opportunities available to graduates. There will be the opportunity to discover new languages and explore language related workshops such as film studies, linguistics and translation studies as well as meet our current languages students, stay overnight in our student accommodation and join in with social activities that give you a rounded experience of university life.

As part of the residential you can choose to study one of two routes:

  • Take workshops in French, German or Spanish if you’re already studying these languages
  • Choose to study a beginners language such as Italian, Portuguese, Latin or Arabic. You don’t need to have previous experience of studying the beginners languages to choose this route
The application form for Linguastars 2020 is now closed.
