Listen to Paul McGinty, subject leader for Art and Photography from Abbey Grange Academy, talk about the benefits of entering the competition:
The Discover ARTiculation Challenge is an annual competition dedicated to engaging Key Stage 4 students with art and to develop their confidence and ability to express their opinions, thoughts and conclusions. Built on the success of the ARTiculation Prize for sixth form students, it has been designed to stimulate students’ interest and understanding of art while developing individual thinking, observation, research, language and presentation skills.
Students are invited to submit (via their school) a 2-3 minute film of themselves speaking about a work of art, an artefact or a piece of architecture of their choice. Judges from the University of Leeds and our partner galleries will view each film, looking at content, structure, delivery and the speaker’s original approach and unique potential before choosing entrants to go forward as finalists. Finalists are invited to speak at the Discover ARTiculation Final on Wednesday 17th June 2020.
