Instituto Cervantes Leeds

The Instituto Cervantes in Leeds was opened in 1993 and is part of the global network of official cultural centres from the Government of Spain. There are 100 branches spread around the world, and in the UK you can also find the Instituto Cervantes in London and Manchester.

Short Story Competition

Aimed at writing enthusiasts who speak Spanish as a second language and who want to show their creative talents through an original short story. The competition has two categories (young and adults) and can be submitted through Forms, by clicking on one of the following links:

Young people aged 12 to 18

Adults over 18 years old

Online Taster Class

Sample classes aimed at two levels of Spanish proficiency.

A1 Level Class: aimed at people with no knowledge of Spanish in which those interested will have the opportunity to learn basic notions of Spanish through a dynamic and participative approach. Tuesday 12th November from 16:05 to 16:55. If you are interested, click on this link.

Face to Face Taster Class

Placement Tests

This activity is aimed at people who are interested in finding out their level of communicative competence in Spanish. It is offered at the following times:

Monday 11th  of November from 16:15 to 17:15.

Tuesday 12th of November from 16:15 to 17:15.

Wednesday 13th of November from 16:15 to 17:15.

Friday 15th of November from 16:15 to 17:15.
